Ugur Erdener: "These meetings will shape the next year in sport"
Belek, Turkey; 11 April 2014: The Turkish Olympic Committee today reflected on SportAccord Convention 2014 as another successful event in the country’s portfolio of hosting major sport events as the Convention came to a close.
SportAccord took place in Belek, Antalya in Turkey from 6-11 April, bringing together 1,636 delegates from international sport organisations for high-level meetings, including the International Olympic Committee Executive Board meeting, as well as presentations, announcements and networking.
President of the Turkish Olympic Committee, Professor Uğur Erdener, said:
“The Turkish Olympic Committee is very happy and honoured to have successfully welcomed the biggest and most important annual sports gathering in the world in the beautiful city of Belek. It has been a great opportunity for us to welcome so many delegates from every corner of the sports world in meetings that will shape the next year in sport.”
Neşe Gündoğan, Secretary General of the Turkish Olympic Committee, thanked SportAccord President, Marius Vizer at the meeting:
