USSA Selects deltatre for the Alpine FIS Ski World Cups in Beaver Creek and Aspen

Skiing - Alpine - 19 Oct 2005
The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) has announced the appointment of deltatre to provide timing, data processing and TV graphics services for the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup events in Beaver Creek and Aspen, Colorado this December.

deltatre will, as part of the agreement, provide and manage a wide range of services for the events, including:

§ A fully electronic timing system
§ Results system and data processing
§ Commentator information system
§ Official printouts
§ TV graphics system
§ Scoreboard integration

The appointment follows the successful collaboration between deltatre and USSA at last seasons Freestyle FIS World Cup competitions in the USA. “Our experience from last season was very positive and we believe deltatre has the knowledge and expertise to deliver the highest quality product,” said USSA’s Vice President of Events Annette Royle. “We are delighted to have reached this agreement with deltatre and are very much looking forward to working with them again.”

The sentiment was echoed by deltatre Chief Executive Officer Giampiero Rinaudo, who said “We are very pleased to extend our relationship with the USSA and look forward to building on last season’s success.”

deltatre has long-standing experience within the sport, including the provision timing, results and TV graphics services for other FIS World Cup Events, all FIS Freestyle Events and previous editions of the FIS World Championships in Alpine Skiing.

One of the key components of the relationship between deltatre and USSA will be live data transmission of results on both the FIS and the U.S. Ski Team web site. The Dec. 1-4 men’s World Cup in Beaver Creek and Dec. 8-10 women’s World Cup in Aspen will be broadcast in the USA on NBC and OLN, with additional live coverage worldwide.
