Visions of Football: An International Dialogue
With interest so high, now seems the right time for a thorough examination of the game as it is today. A major conference in Munich this month will do just this, looking football's relationship with everything from society to the world of medicine, via such areas as business and the media.
From 27-29 July, the International Trade Fair (IMC) and the newly opened FIFA World Cup Stadium, Munich will host 'Visions of Football', an international conference organised by the Bavarian state government and the city of Munich in co-operation with FIFA and the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ Organising Committee.
The event boasts a distinguished line-up of speakers ready to initiate an international dialogue on the role of the game. More than 30 leading personalities, including FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter, Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Professor Egon Franck of the University of Zurich, will examine and explore subjects including 'Football's role in bringing people together', 'Promoting talent in premier league football', and 'The opportunities and risks resulting from the increasing commercialisation of world football' in presentations and round-table discussions.
The conference is aimed at managers and decision makers from associations, clubs, sports organisations, sponsors, sports academics and medical practitioners, and marketing and sponsorship professionals. FIFA President Blatter commented: "'Visions of Football' has two aims: to provide a foretaste of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, and to allow the football community worldwide to share the latest developments with specialists from around the world."
