Well known Distributor Making a “Big Splash” with FINA

IEC in Sports, the Swedish-based Sports Marketing Agency specialized in television distribution and rights consultancy today announced that it has entered into an agreement with FINA (La Fédération Internationale de Natation) to centrally market a number of the Federation’s key events over the course of the next three and a half years.

Under the terms of the Agreement, IEC will handle the distribution of FINA’s international television rights to the end of 2009, working closely with the high profile Federation to devise appropriate commercial strategies for a number of its key events including the prestigious FINA Swimming World Cup Series, the FINA Diving World Series, the FINA Water Polo World League Super Final and the FINA Synchronized Swimming World Trophy.

IEC’s relationship with FINA stems back (indirectly) to 1994 when the agency first distributed a number of the FINA Swimming World Cup Meetings, marketed individually at that time and until only recently by each of the Event Promoters/Organizers. This

Agreement follows a move by the Federation to handle the marketing of the series centrally.

The agreement with FINA will be jointly managed by IEC’s new office in Lausanne, headed by IEC Director, Nick Haigh. This forms a part of the company’s growing commitment to serving many of the world’s leading Sports Federations and Governing Bodies, many of whom are based or at least have a presence in the Olympic Capital.
