Kipsta wins French league ball supply contract
The LFP, the French professional soccer league, has named Kipsta, the soccer brand owned by sporting goods retailer Decathlon, as its new ball supplier in a five-year deal.
Kipsta will supply the top-flight Ligue 1 and second-tier Ligue 2 with balls from 2022-23 to 2026-27.
The brand was awarded the contract following a bidding process launched by the league last month.
Kipsta will replace German sports manufacturer Uhlsport which has been the LFP’s ball supplier since the start of the 2017-18 season when it took over from Adidas.
Uhlsport will continue in the role until the end of next season.
As part of the deal, the LFP said it will also “benefit from the power of the Decathlon network".
