Ralph Lauren aims for big hit with MLB deal
Ralph Lauren, the US fashion brand, has agreed new partnership with North America’s Major League Baseball covering several of the most popular teams.
The tie-up will see Ralph Lauren design three clothing collections in collaboration with MLB teams, which will made available from today.
The first capsule will include the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals.
The first multi-team capsule will include polo shorts, satin jackets, fleece sweatshirts and caps.
The partnership will be promoted via a digital-first global campaign, outdoor wallscapes and artist murals, as well as via an Airstream which will travel to various stops from New York to Chicago’s Gallagher Way and offer ballpark-themed food and drink.
The apparel will be available in Macy’s, Bloomingdales, the New York MLB store, MLB Club stadium shops and selected Ralph Lauren stores globally, as well as on RalphLauren.com, MLBShop.com and The Polo App.
The collections will later expand and include additional MLB teams including the Boston Red Sox.
Two more capsules will be released for the fall and holiday seasons.
Ralph Lauren has a wide sporting partnership portfolio including the US Olympic and Paralympic teams, tennis' Wimbledon Championships, US Open and Australian Open, and golf's PGA of America, the US PGA Championship, US Ryder Cup team, US Open and the American Junior Golf Association.
