Hungary's TV2 retains Premier League rights, adds Bundesliga and expands Spanish offering

Hungarian commercial broadcaster TV2 has extended its rights deal with English soccer’s top-flight Premier League, added coverage of Germany’s Bundesliga and expanded its partnership with Spain’s LaLiga.
The new deal will see the Premier League shown on TV2’s Spíler 1 channel for another three seasons, from 2022-23 to 2024-25.
It continues TV2’s coverage of the Premier League, which extends at least as far back as the 2016-17 season, and will see more matches shown than ever before.
Paul Molnar, head of media at the Premier League, said: “The Premier League is very pleased to announce our new partnership with TV2 in Hungary. Thanks to Spíler TV, the TV2 group has excellently presented Premier League matches in recent years, so fans can look forward to an unprecedented amount of live coverage.”
Meanwhile, 68 matches from Germany's top-tier Bundesliga and second-tier 2.Bundesliga will be shown on TV2 through a deal with Network4, the Hungarian pay-television broadcaster.
Network4 has a five-year deal starting with the 2021-22 season to show more than 300 matches per campaign from across the two leagues.
In addition, TV2’s usual live broadcasts of LaLiga will this season be joined by a studio-based highlights show and coverage of the second-tier Segunda Division.
Pavel Stanchev, chief executive of TV2 Media Group, said: “The TV2 Group is committed to making Spíler channels host the highest quality football events. The top three leagues are the English Premier League, LaLiga and Bundesliga.
“After successfully winning Premier League and LaLiga broadcast rights for years to come, we thought it would be a real surprise for our loyal spectators to be able to see matches from the Bundesliga rounds with us as well. We hope that our cooperation with Network4... will extend to other new sporting events for both groups in the future.”
