Marron to sell international rights to Lanka Premier League
Marron Media, the Australian sports agency, has been appointed as the global broadcast rights holder for the Lanka Premier League, Sri Lanka's top-tier domestic men’s Twenty20 cricket tournament.
The agency will sell rights worldwide to the competition for the second consecutive year.
Marron was again appointed by the IPG Group, the LPL’s official organiser and commercial rights partner.
In its role as exclusive media rights sales agent, Marron will focus on global distribution outside of Sri Lanka.
The 2021 edition of the LPL will begin on Sunday.
Marron was co-founded in 2020 by Lara Richards, the former media rights manager at the International Cricket Council.
Richards said: “We are thrilled to be trusted with the continued distribution of the Lanka Premier League 2021 which has cemented itself as a prestigious event in the T20 calendar.
“IPG has high production values and we are looking forward to distributing such premium content in the coming days.”
Anil Mohan, founder and chief executive of IPG Group, added: “The second edition of the Lanka Premier League promises to be the best yet and preparations are well underway to deliver a world-class tournament. We are pleased to partner with Marron Media to enhance distribution and look forward to extending our partnership.”
