The ICF brought together all the leading coaches in Canoe Sprint and Canoe Slalom to discuss the state of Canoeing and how to develop the future of the sport. The Symposium was held 27 February to 1 March, in Warsaw, Poland hosted by the Polish Canoe Federation and sponsored by the Canoe boat manufacturer, Plastex.<BR>

The ICF is proud to finally unveil its newly designed logo for the first time to the public. The visually striking new logo will provide a consistent and distinct look for the Canoeing sport. It will reflect our identity, influencing our persona and the character of the ICF. The ICF will not discard its traditional logo, but the new one will be more ubiquitous.

In accordance to the latest information received from Chinese Taipei Canoe association the following Asian Championships, which were supposed to be held in Taiwan, because of the outbreak disease of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) for protecting the athletes of being affected have been postponed until the SARS has completely subsided.
